Firing order i think is 1-7-3-5-8-2-6-4. Each crank pin is 90 degrees from each other in a unique 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 crankshaft configuration instead of the then more common 4-4 or 2-4-2 crankshaft configurations. That is the reason this car sounds so beautiful and melodic. Crankpins 1 amd 8 are 180 degrees from crank pins 3 and 6 while pins 2 and 7 are 180 degrees from pins 4 and 5 however 2 and 7 are 90 degrees from 1 and 8 and so are 4 and 5 from 3 and 6. This configuration makes a double helix, the most stable spiral structure in nature.

I've always read they were revolutionary but seeing one in action now I absolutely believe it. Just listening to the engine and the gear shifts it just doesn't sound like car from the 1920s but more like a car half a century younger, maybe even more. Absolutely impressive and thank you for this video.

Sounds great! As good as a vintage Bugatti. And Delage was extremely successful on GP circuits, 1926?, 1927.

Was the engine still cold when started ? The revs seem a bit high for a cold engine . It sounds fabulous at high revs . ❤

Would've been more interesting if video contained speed of vehicle, etc. 🤔

Sad when such a thoroughbred sounds like a Chev Pick-up
