My dad owns an original Bugatti 35 B from 1927 and we drive it every weekend in the south of France. We go to small towns and park the car outside of cafés and boulangeries to buy bread. This car is just amazing!

The only downside with the ones made in argentina is that they do not really "look, smell and sound like the original". Even though some replicas are manually aged, they still do not have the same patina as 93 year-old cars. In addition , the sound an argentinian replica makes is not really the the same as an original as you can clearly tell the difference when you know how an original sounds like .

If the replica firing order is different from the original then definitely it will not sound the sand as the original ! No tearing calicot then.

Imagine driving this in 1927, and overtaking people in horse carriages. You'd be a total baller.

Most cars in 1927 struggled to reach 60mph. The Ford Model A introduced in 1927 had a top speed of 60mph. It had a 40hp engine. The Chevrolet Series AB National had a 35 hp engine. The Chrysler Imperial introduced in 1926 was a "top-of-the-line" premium luxury car for the rich and it had a top speed of 80mph and a 90hp engine. The Bugatti Type 35B had a 140hp engine, was light-weight and could reach 120mph.

Both fine cars !...but the Bugatti is my special ! A car-magazine did a test, long ago : this Bugatti shown, did 8.1 seconds 0-100(62.5mph). The Capri Parana,v8( standard) took 7.2 SEC's. But, from 0-160(100mph), Bugatti 16.2 sec and the Capri, 17.8 sec. Jay !...you are cruel !....do you know how my poor heart is aching, for this black ,hors'ie !!!.....thank you for dealing with us !

Man this is what I call a quality replica.. And in many ways better than the original probably just with the newer metals they use to build the engine and transmission. To think they also use the English wheel and hammer to beat the aluminum panels just like they did almost 95 years ago is stunning. I wonder if they do Ferraris, it would be so cool if they recreate a Ferrari California SWB, wow that would be incredible.

Well, if anybody needs to know, Pursang is in Catalán, it translates literally into spanish "Pura sangre" which in turn would be translated literally to english as "pure blood". The correct translation from the catalán word "pursang" into english is "Thoroughbred".

I disagree. He's not funny. He's too used to doing interviews, everytime some comes along theres almost no natural conversation.

@@Aristocrafied I agree. I enjoy his shows but not him personally. He has this robotic, impersonal way about him and doesn't appear to take any interest in the person or what they have to say, but rather seems to want to confirm his initial bits of info to look well informed. Still a fairly good choice for Top Gear presenter, as even Clarkson was a bit of a CLINT , but made interesting segments.

I was just in Argentina but sadly I didn't get a chance to visit the Pur Sang factory. If I ever return, hopefully it will be with a check in my hand to put down on a Type 35!! I've watched this video at least a dozen times. Magnificent automobile.

It didn't have 180HP. That was the Type 51. The Type 35 had an average of 125 HP. Nevertheless, I agree, it had to have felt like it was quick.

Justin: Any modern gasoline is way better than pre-war fuel. The octane rating of road fuel was something like 73. Normal avgas was 80/87. (80 lean, 87 rich). Even a racing fuel from then would probably ping horribly in a modern engine.

They ran Methanol, mostly.. Cooler burning! No knocking... Germans added aromatic spirits Xzylol, Tolulol, tolulene, MEK and such.. Not ethyl lead! Howard Hughes tried jars of THAT.. From the inventor, Kettering.. (who also invented FREON) For his HR-1 racer... 1935

Your both wrong pre war fuel was benzine 115 octane. The same bikes lost lap time after the war Isle of Mann TT. The pre war benzine fuel stock piles were made into Napalm. Fact Check it.

Jay Leno could take a lesson from Matt Farah and The Smoking Tire to make his videos more interesting. He makes a 15 to 20 minute video about the car but more than 3/4 of it is him talking about himself as much as the car. Cut the blah, blah, blah and just get to the driving! That's what I like about The Smoking Tire, a minute or two of, tell me about your car, then he starts driving. Jay talks way too much when I just want to hear the car.
