@@johna1160 Cameron has spent his entire life around this private collection and I'm sure knows more actual facts about the car than any book references. He seemed to be able to answer most of the questions Jay had (and already knew answers to). Funny...I didn't see him looking at his phone once. No question that Ettore and his son Jean designed and built the most desirable cars ever put to paper and then into sculpted metal. What a thing. I had never heard of this model until this show: think it gives the Aerolithe and the Type 57 SC Atlantique a run for their money. Just Art Deco in motion: it's fabulous

Now that is one beautiful car. I wish we still saw designs like this. Imagine if someone designed it to modern standards and put it on sale looking pretty much just like that. Even if it was only a small engine'd runabout it would sell any amount they could make.

@@kslayurgf It wouldn't need to be exactly the same and we have to remember you couldn't re-create the experience of this car today anyway because of all the regs. I love this car for what it is but even if just that look was transplanted onto say a modern MX-5 platform you would have a car which is safe, efficiant, great to drive, relatively cheap and looking at it would be something really special. Maybe do an electric version too on a BMW i3 for people that way inclined. The aerodymnamics would be easy to get to being great, that massive hood would mean you could have a very decent sized trunk and thin, tyres would look as it should and offer very easy handling. Just imagine if you came out to your Miata and it looked like that.

There's some similar replica cars around. There was a Talbot Lago replica made in the mid 90's using mustang running gear, and Delahaye USA makes a modern version of the Atlantic. Neither are cheap, but they exist.

What a gorgeous car. It's dated in design (which is a good thing here) but timeless in class. I can't even imagine back then. 180hp in 1400 lbs is still a great power to weight ratio today. 360hp in a 2800lb car would be more than respectable. Putting it into perspective of most cars of the day, getting a ride in this would be like getting a ride in a luxery supercar or hypercar of today.
