First run in over 50 years. This engine hasn't run in a VERY long time but starts right up and idles perfectly. A testament to quality American engineering.

Exactly because on this engine the valves can only be oiled externally. Also to make sure none of the valves were stuck. Earlier years didn't even have valve covers.

I've restored over 110 cars over 40 years, mostly Chevy and the oldest was a '31 coupe, obviously a 6. I'd love to work on one this old. I did a '36 series 80 Cadillac and it was interesting with having to make all new wood sills and other parts and nailing the door skins to wooden frames and building the V12 was fun, but I am such a Chevy freak, I'd rather do one of these super early Chevys, just to admire the engineering design to see where they were before they became the bloated pig they ultimately turned into. Still a fan, still only drive Chevy, but I often lament what could have been.

could you post a video on how to replace the starter switch? I can't find a video or directions anywhere. I would greatly appreciate it.

the 27 Carter RX0 carbs are plentiful compared to 28 and easier to rebuild. Keep looking, you'll find one.
