I have never chopped a top on a model A and was wondering why it is called a "slanted" surgery. Are the A pillars cut at different heights to preserve door hinges and windshield bracket locations? Thanks for any information or insight! Thanks for posting.

Jamie Fowler hey! that was my mistake (wife) he had to adjust the cuts because the pillars were different sizes. I will be extra careful in wording next time.

There's no such thing as a 1929 Model T. Model T production was stopped in 1927. Model A production began in 1928. Secondly, I hate when hot rodders affiliate their cars with the model T. Non model T engine? Non model T drive train? Non model T chassis/frame? Then it's not a model T. As a TRUE model T Ford owner and MTFCA member affiliating these hotrods with a true model T is detrimental to our goal of preserving history. I can't tell you how many kids I've seen calling hotrods model Ts when they are not.

What a very well thought out retort that was. Funny thing is I actually really like the original T-buckets of the 1940's/1950's. Especially the ones with a nice flat head V8 in them and with little to no chopping done to them. They're very cool cars. Still not a Model T any more though. Today there are so many Fiberglass repro body parts for the Model A and T Fords there is no reason to go chopping an original car up. Hot rodders seldom use the frame, rear end, and certainly not the motors anyway so it's actually easier to build it that way than chopping up an increasingly rare vehicle.
