So great to see young people working on these old machines. You just can't beat old machinery. Good luck with her.

thanks, all dads grandkids seem to have his vintage bug n it's really good for us to see his vehicles in good hands. one of my other sons just starting to work on another truck of dads, a 1941 Ford v8. Plenty of good things ahead.

Nice to see one stock, rather than cut to pieces and hot rodded.

i have a vintage tractor, its a 1948 farmall cub. its surprising that even in 2016 its reliable and useful as ever. it mows 2 acres of lawn and plows the snow in the winter. i have had very little trouble with it besides minor maintenance. its probably one of the most reliable machines i have ever owned.

Sounds like the car has never been parked up for 50 years runs great. Well done boy's.
@janicemoore36959 жыл бұрын
she's running smoother each time shes started up. Brendon took for a run down the road the other day now he's got the tyre fixed.. All going well she'll be ok to take to Edendale crankup at end of January, motorwise anyway.

Looked like the upper rockers were not getting engine oil. You better drain that oil pan, remove it, and clean the screen filter and make sure the oil pump isnt clogged.

That engine was designed by men with slide rules and mind power. It's not as efficient as the computer optimized engines of today, but the durability is incredible.

That car is in great shape. I have a 1935 I like the old cars. The cars got big and heavy in the late fourties and fifties.There is no architect in buildings and cars now every thing is flat.

The starter sounds like you are using a 12 volt battery.
@groupsaregreat8 жыл бұрын
I agree, absolutely! The starter is much too fast for a 6 volt.

These are new this year. Our dealer just got the first shipment of six cars.......and they're already sold.
@sportytone17 жыл бұрын
That appears to be a later model motor. In 1934 most vehicles were flatheads, but that appeares to be an OHV straight-6...
@snoebay887 жыл бұрын
34 Chevy's had an OHV six. A little google works wonders !

@rupe535 жыл бұрын
@@janicemoore3695 .. I have a 1928 GMC truck with the straight 6 and that not only has OHV, but roller lifters and full pressure lube on the crankshaft. Back in those days the smaller GMCs used Buick touring car chassis and driveline so parts are still out there to be had.

How hard was it to convert from 6 to 12v
@hyzercreek6 жыл бұрын
Why would you do that?
@thevandal71146 жыл бұрын
Abcde I'm sure they did it just for convenience purposes
@hyzercreek6 жыл бұрын
The are just using a 12 volt battery on the car. The 6 volt starter works fine with 12 V you don't need to "convert" anything.
@thevandal71146 жыл бұрын
Goes to show how much I know, i didn't know you could do that
