Frank Thompson owner of Overland Park Jeep was the dealer that owned that car and donated several from his collection with the proceeds going to St Lukes Hospital in Kansas City. I showed the Airflow at Art of the Car at the Kansas City Art Institute April 28th 2015 for Frank. It was an awesome weekend. Wayne Carini and Ralph Moreno were in town for the event. Ralph brought 2 or 3 special Packards. They toured Frank’s collection the day before the show and we hung out for a couple hours. Both were very nice guys. I drove the car to the show in 2015 and it ran hot. We thrashed to get an electric fan installed the day before which helped a little. Frank is still kicking at 93 and down to about 10 cars. Fun to see it again

I think the face, the waterfall grill, is absolutely beautiful. First car designed with info from a wind tunnel tests. I'm guessing that the curved grill over the radiator contributed to lowered wind resistance. Most cars in 1934 had a squared off front. I don't understand why the public didn't like the curved shape? Who doesn't like curves? I would have like to see this vehicle being driven on the road! Yes the brakes are not up to today's standard. I wonder if modifications to the original brakes have been made to this vehicle. Interesting that the car was modified to have an electric fan for the radiator. Did this vehicle orignally come with a 6 volt electrical system? Personally I feel warmly toward mechanically driven fans. So - was that an ABS device for the brake system that I saw in the engine compartment, on the passenger side? Did this car come with mechanical brakes or hydraulic brakes? I find it a bit amusing that the engine has 8 cylinders, 4.9 liters, and produces only 122 horsepower, whilst my 2015 4-cylinder car with a 1.5 liter engine, manages to produce 130 hp - amazing advances in engine design. What is responsible for this? Is it a higher compression ratio, more sophisticated cylinder head design, stronger valves and valve seats, lightweight alloy crankcase, computerized electronic ignition and computerized electronic fuel injection, variable valve timing and lift - is that it? Anything else.

They should have made more "Town Sedans', this is the most beautiful Airflow I've ever seen. And that color is perfection. I always thought it a shame the public couldn't accept these futuristic cars from Chrysler. Later they went back to more conventional styling, even pod headlights. Took everyone else until the very late 30's and early 40's to catch up to this style. Chrysler was in the same boat in the late 50's. Nothing could touch their styling. Then, I believe it was Exner started styling some of the weirdest cars ever seen in the early 60's.

UNIBODY design: The fenders MELD into the rest of the body. It would take about a decade and a half, for the rest of the automotive world to get savvy. No external trunk/boot access? This is JUST the ticket--in more ways than one--for smuggling in maybe three more passengers into the drive-in movie; and you're then not quite as conspicuous, when you pull into your speaker-stand spot. People will just see some vague shadows moving about, and that's it. When the movie's finished, who then gives a hang, who's inside?? Seems like, if the Barrow Gang nucleus--Clyde & Bonnie--had somehow evaded the Hamer ambush, with their "career" lasting, say, 2 more years, Clyde might have nicked one or two of these babies; I'm sure that these had performance superior to most Law Enforcement fleets of the day, as did Clyde's ever-lovin' Ford V8's.

A true treasure. I think it looks much better with the Town Style windows. The only negative aspect is telling your caddy the golf clubs are in the trunk...it might take him an hour to find them. So sad that Chrysler will be gone soon. There's a special place in hell for Stellantis.

Sorry I disagree. I like them much better with that rear window. That makes for a huge blind spot that I would prefer not to have while driving.

I hear you sir. To each his own. Here is a video I did of a 36 with the window. Some small changes between the two. Thanks for watching. Video link kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5S4gIB3hryFrJo

I understand your point of view. The other ones that I owned had the rear quarter windows and it took me a bit of time getting used to the look, but I do like it. It does not present much of an issue when driving it. It has become a point of conversation when showing it.

…thank-you, guys!!…and yes, I had the same initial take…that this was a custom on the C-pillar window….I’ve not ever seen one… …and lucky fella gets to own one!!…👀⁉️👍😎
