These are not "rations", they are treats. All German rations were supplied by food kitchens and then taken to the troops. They did not have anything like C or K rations.

Nice new review Nathan. This replica looks great. Oberst is the german officer rank for Colonel and Zigaretten means cigaretts. The biscuit says Leibniz Butterkeks. A german brand that still exsists today. My favorite brand for butter cookies. The Smokes would be something for Oldsmokey.

I have one of these rats but no actual cigs in it. They sent papers for me to roll my own haha. Anyways from the reseach I did on this little ration. This is the German equivalent to the k ration. German soldiers found a bunch of left behind k rats and loved them so much the German military tried to replicate it. I have some cool original photos and more info. I might still review that thing one day.

One thing that was a common addition to many of the Rations, I believe their weekly Ration was a thing called Erbswurst. Think of freeze dried Split Pea Soup that is formed into Tablets and then packaged with seven Tablets in a Roll. Each Tablet made one cup of Soup. (They still make them and they don't taste bad. I carry them in my Emergency Kits.)

@@KevinSmith-yh6tl They aren't easy to find in the United States. You can however find them on Amazon being sold by sellers in Germany. They are made by Knorr. The Flavor isn't bad, I've eaten them on occasion. I would recommend adding some Bacon Bits as well as some Black Pepper. (I have added some Mashed Potatoes when using these for Camping and that works out well.) I have made dehydrated Split Pea Soup which works out well but it takes up a lot more room than the ErbsWurst. (It does taste better though.)

Regular German ration: Hahnchenfleisch (chicken), Rinderbraten (roast beef) or Truthahabraten (turkey), Hartkeks or Knockobrot biscuits, Kondessupe (Tomato or split pea), Glocksklee condensed milk or Bohnenkaffee, sometimes Schokolade dark chocolate, plus matches and latrine paper.

Correct would have been: 1 x deli vitamin sweets, 2 x black tea, 2 x tube cheese 2 x hard biscuits 2 x 1 x pork in jelly preserves 1 x margarine 1 x jam field ration peach 1 x strawberry.Knorr pea sausage (dried peas, bacon powder, soup vegetables) pressed into drops, 2 of which make 500 ml of soup12 x Juno cigarettes 20 x Weltholzer matches.Scho Ka Kola dark ( the blue one comes 1992 on marked ) was Marketender ware ( Extra not for the normal Soldier only for fighters in missions or the Pilots of the Luftwaffe, and there is missing Pervertin Pills ( crystal meth now called ) . You're a nice guy and your video is lovely. But this fake Wehrmacht ration is far from being "authentic", I'm afraid. As far as my literature tell me, fruit bars like the one we see in the video had not been invented before 1967. They're pretty modern. The term "Fruchtriegel" is also a modern term, back then similar bars made of nougat existed as "Nougatschnitten" (literally "cuts" since those were cut into bars and not produced as bars. Details. Also, I couldn't find a company called "Felsche". Definitely wrong are the cigarettes! Waldorf-Astoria (Yes, the immigrants from Walldorf in Germany founded the grand hotel in New York city) was a German tobacco company that existed from 1906 to 1929! The name and the brand "Oberst" were liquidated in 1929 and taken over by the Reemtsma Tobacco Company from Hamburg, Germany, where I live. They produced "Astor" cigarettes from 1930 until 2015. So, it's obvious that the Wehrmacht couldn't have any cigarettes that had not been produced any longer since 1929, isn't it? All in all, I'm terribly sorry but the replica package doesn't look authentic at all to me. Regards from Germany!
