I don't know if you'd elaborated as much on historical wars and the conditions thereof (concerning nutrient deficiencies and the consequential diseases to follow) in previous videos, but whoa(!), I was more intrigued by that than the actual ration contents. You really consider the past. I thought you invested in old, preserved rations for the novelty, but your knowledge is akin to credible scientists! Well, you always gave that impression, but I guess that cigarette loosened you up enough to share more of what you think about. I mean, you really put into perspective the struggles of war that didn't pertain to the battlefield, but rather in stationing itself. I bet that struggling with hunger pains caused damage to the psyche as much, if not more, as combat exposure does. Nobody can appreciate the advancement of military rations as much as you. I've followed you for years and am charmed by your genuine passion. I'd like to see more of this side of you, Steve. You really looked to enjoy yourself in this video. Maybe elaborate upon the modern techniques of processing foods to that of old whenever it is opportune. Like, how tf did those cigarettes last 120 years!? And how did they preserve/achieve those fruity, chocolate undertones?

I can't get over the pristine condition they were in, and don't get me started on that hiss... just incredible!!! I get like a "history orgasm" just thinking about EVERYTHING that can has seen and been through lol! It's honestly like a miracle that it even still EXISTS! Like bro.. you opening that can and releasing air that hasn't been exposed since the end of the 1800's- from a time when people still rode horse and buggy, in the waning days of when the west was still wild, the second industrial revolution, and over a decade before the Titanic sank, the completion of the Panama Canal, and the START of the First World War- and then seeing that inside metal shine and see the light of day for the first time in over 100 years, not to mention that perfect card sitting on top was almost too much for me- like for real, that sight was meant for people who lived over 100 years ago and thanks to you, all of us were able to see it too! It was an honor and really almost too much for words- just spectacular! I can't thank you enough for that.. keep up the great work man, LOVE ur vids!!! P.S. those Queen Victoria tins are equally next level! I've seen them before but NEVER with the freakin chocolate still inside and intact!!! Like Jesus, that's legendary shit man!
