The small tank is the gasoline tank used for starting and to warm the engine. Afterwards you switch to the big tank which was kerosene or distillate back in the day.

“Cold start” in short sleeves 😀😁👍 Nice tractor though. Obviously you know your own equipment, but I would never start one of those with the clutch engaged, even if I thought it was out of gear. Thanks for posting.

Very nice A, Joe! I recently got my grandpa's 1938 unstyled B going. No petcocks on that one! Starting routine is exactly the same as yours - choke till it fires, once, then off. Usually starts in 2-5 cranks, less when warm :)

My 1939 jd b start really easy when it has not ran yet but once you drive it for a bit and shut it off when it is warm it won’t even want to start me and my dad have to bump start it but even then it takes a little bit to start
