My dad used to tell the story of his dad's Wallace tractor that wouldn't start in the fridged cold ,would take a metal bushel basket filled with pine stump pieces, light it on fire, then put it under the Wallace tractor oil pan. It worked.

Hey, that's how we used to start stuff on the farm! We usually used a coal scoop and had to build a fire in it, and let it burn down to coals. My mother would refer to that tree as a "Whoville tree!"

Very enjoyable. Old school Christmas tree hunting adventure, From warming the oil pan with hot coals to finding your tree in the wild I enjoyed it. I loved the way the old bias ply tracks looked in the setting sun as you drove back home.

I live in the far north of Russia, the Yamal Peninsula, and the frost here now is 52C°. We usually have a Webasto pre-heater or an electric heating boiler💁‍♂️ At night we don’t turn off the cars and install double-glazed windows😁 as well as an additional pump on the stove😊
