I don't have one, so I can't do it - & therefore I support the man that does. I'm going to miss that dent though. I thought it gave the car a little more character. Some people just aren't happy unless they've got something to kvetch about - World's going to hell in a handbasket, but a dent in a otherwise nice old car in need of a little TLC makes you itch. The problem's not with the car, it's with YOU. Why don't you go to a channel where pi--ing & moaning is welcome? I look forward to Jonathan's next project, & I've even watched some of his earlier ones - the man is talented, no big bucks TV crew doing the grunt work off camera, no shiny shop , no script. Just a man, a plan, & what he's got on hand. Can't get any more real than that. Thanks for posting, sir!

Hi Jonathon, I used to be a leather worker for many years and one technique I used was simular but I used sheep skin like on a sheepskin seat cover to apply the dye in a simular way and depending on the article I was making I would include different shades of brown or whatever the colours effect you where after, you also can use a snippet of kitchen sponge as well, my creations sold well so I must have done something right! I appreciate all the work you put into the channel Jonathan thank for teaching me lots of valuable tips and sharing so much information with us. Tony from Western Australia.

You never ceases to amaze me with your talent. That wood graining looks nice. I bet with a little more practice you can make it look like a different style. Either way, nice job on that. Love the wheels on the Chevrolet and a fine job on the fender dent. I was totally amazed at just how much of the woods was in that Plymouth engine. I'm betting you can get that engine going for sure. Maybe the a/c compressor is locked up and it's keeping the engine from turning? My money is on you make it purr like a kitten before long. Have a good day! This video made my day nicer.

A/C on a ‘48 Plymouth. Who’da thunk? I remember a woodgraining technique where the base coat is sprayed and then cheesecloth is used as the pattern for the grain by randomly opening and closing the cheesecloth mesh along the surface to be painted. Then spray the darker wood color through the cheesecloth. I think it was Jesse James Monster Garage. The ‘39 is coming along. Keep those videos coming.

The paint effect turned out great. In place of the plastic bag you can get some tin (cooking) foil which you really crumple up into a ball, making sure it is really crupled into small peaks and troughs and use that to remove bits of your brown paint rotating it to present a different part to vary the paint effect, but it's whatever works best/easiest for you.
@markhensley15894 жыл бұрын
Glad you went with whitewalls - looks better with the fender un-dinged. Not sure about the wood tone interior trim, won't really be able to appreciate it until it's all back on the car. All in all, I really like it. Hey, didn't you pick up a 67 cadillac awhile back? I can't remember if it was for you or somebody else. I've got a great idea for it because restoration is too expensive, and sedans don't bring enough money, and you just fix cars to drive...what about a rockabilly cruiser? Red wheels, satin black body, checkerboard seat covers, that good ol 429 singing through some lakes pipes, high up front, low in the back, etc. ( I'd drive it)

Dear Johnathan W. You're the man, Sir! Thank you sooo much for eliminating the dent on the front fender. Still don't know why it affected me so much. Maybe because you invested so much work on the rear end = the front should be straight too?! 2) Although I hoped that you paint the rims red, I have to admit that the cappuccino ones look great too. I sure thought that you do the interior in red again (like it is). But red fabric must be bought and light brown is already in the upholstery workshop. As good as possible with as little money as possible. That's definitely a very good way to go. By the way: You did a very amazing and impressive paint job! That wood graining looks really really great. Thanks a lot for making teaching recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health. Postscriptum: I just googled what OCD means... hope I'm able to pay you back some day! ;-) :-)
