Routine change of the transmission oil in my John Deere A. It wasn't too bad but it is certainly good to change every couple of years. At a minimum, let it sit and try and get the water out by cracking the drain plug.

Dan, when you put the plugs back in do you use Teflon tape for the threads?

No. My G was leaking the other day a little but I found out the plug wasn't all the way in. That oil is pretty thick so if the plug is in tight it shouldn't leak.

80W-90 gear oil

@@12799MaDeuce either or. The 140W is thicker so it's less likely to leak, but both will do the job. I just simply find 80-90w at the local store.

owners manual states 80 for winter, 90 for hot summer. 7 gallons.
