One of my old old family friends who is now long deceased was one of the rare yougoslav pilots who were sent to expert training in the USSR. The final test was navigating through siberia with a compas and a flashlight on "some crappy ass wooden plane" (his words). The tank was ofc filled with just enough gas for the trip and rescue was uh not promissed.

I honestly don't know crap about Russian uniforms 😂 I appreciate the compliment, but I have no idea, it all came as a combo. One big set. I know about German uniforms but not commies lol

Ok, for sure. The shoulder boards are basically for a Sgt. Maj., higher enlisted. Dull green colored buttons on the tunic was for enlisted too, so thats correct; the golden ones were for officers. The trousers I cant seem to find any real good information on, since it seems that both enlisted and officers wore/could wear blue trousers (NKVD).

@@TokioExpress good to know! All I knew is it was NKVD which is all I needed to make fun of the USSR 😂 There's no reenactments near me, so resources are hard to find, and the ones that are "close" (500 miles away) are USA/German only.

the way that russia in WW2 lacked good pilots and masters of their vehicles, yet owned some of the most potent vehicles to date, such as the yaks, Iuoseph Stalin (family of tanks), and so much more. Great video by the way :)

I mean it's pure statistics. Saturation of the eastern front vs west. Duration of the conflict for both parties. And the consideration of who was being put into axis planes near the end of the war. Plus we all know how reliable communist reports are. They were known to skew numbers for propaganda. Plus the majority of allied engagements were bombers. There's a lot that weighs into it. Generally speaking most USSR pilots/tankers had next to no training vs their axis and allied counter parts.
