You know they were not called Power Wagon till 1946. Yours is just a Dodge military vehicle. Power Wagon was Dodge’s production for the civilian market! Flat fender power wagons were produced from 1946 to 1968.

Why not take the bell housing, shave a 1/4 off the front ,make an adaptor plate,an use orginal transmission and transfer case ,drive shafts.

Good job! Planning to do the same thing. tell me, what is the distance between the front frame and the front of the crossmember you did? also, I don't know if I missed this or not, but did you have to offset the engine or is it center between the frame rails?

Do you think the suspension is going to keep the crossmember from hitting the front differential , doesn't look like much room . That engine is very heavy .

So far so good. It hasn’t hit yet. I am planning on putting some booster spring/ shocks in the front for another inch of clearance.

You do NOT have a 1941 Dodge Power Wagon. You have a 1941 WC . Power Wagons came to be in 1946. I wish that you people would educate yourselves.

Correct, but that's what most people call them since this is what inspired the civilian Power Wagon after WWII.

@@nathanallen6411 That whole exercise is really badly executed. The curved insert is too narrow and should have been fully formed before he commenced welding. It should have sat on top of the cut edges of the crossmember to form a V between the two walls, which are then filled with the weld fillet. He's not moving the welding torct to create a seam, instead he's just holding and squeezing to put blobs onto the parent metal. Finally, it looks as if he's using too much power on the welder and perhaps too little gas, which gives the burnt appearance ( excess power) and lots of spatter (too little gas). Although this weld is not particularly significant, most welding needs structural integrity and especially in automotive applications. Failures cost lives, sadly often of an innocent third party. This guy craps on about building hot rods for years so should be welding to a much higher standard.

@@skipmole612 hey thx for reply. They was really helpful. I’m a beginner welder myself so I had no idea. Is this Tig welding? I’m only familiar with arc welding and I have a Harbor Freight plasma cutter and arc.
