Hey that brings some memories back....in 1967 at 16 my first Harley was a 42 WLA that had been restored to a WLC configuration with the old leather bags with cut glass inserts.....still riding, albeit an Evo Dyna these days.

That’s a lot of years of riding. Keep it up. Cheers

Only Harley I have had was a 1930 45ci DL back in the sixties. Daily ride for two years. Nimbler than a WL. Interesting to see all the improvements they made. Oil system, gearbox, frame and brakes, just to mention a few. But basically same machine.

I had a frame motor and fork for a DL. Found locally. Sold it to a guy who restored a DL locally and wanted another just a couple of years ago. Tough bikes to build. Rare.

Hello Keith. What i did with my battery was use 2 sealed lead acid batteries in parallel, they fit in the box nicely were cheap and work fine. I have 32e 6 volt generator with the electronic relay. I only have a little over 500 miles on it so far. If you blowing up batteries you can adjust the generator down a bit

I got quite a few miles on the batteries before they blew up. I also went thru two electronic relays. The resistors broke off. Keep an eye on them. I got the correct battery now. I hope you have better luck than i did
