I’d like to hear more from you as you go through the process. For example what is that you’re cleaning the parts in? Many thanks!

Thanks for the video! It's very instructive to see both your good results and your challenges too. Where did you source the brass replacement screw?

Get some products that loosen up screws. Look at contents many have water in great quanity. Put it on all screws and let it sit at least over night before you even try to disassemble them. Remember many of these fans have pot metal, aluminum & cast iron in contact with each other in presence of who knows what for 70 -100 years. They interact & Get frozen and even form new compounds. I've had some that take a week or more to free- up. Take your time it hasn't worked for decades. Enjoy what you're doing this is not a hundred yard dash but a marathon. Lastly get a volt ohm meter and learn how to use it. Just plugging something in to outlets without GFI & fast blowing fuses is crazy 110 V kills many young &; older people. Young & old hearts are easily shocked out of rhythm or stopped altogether. In addition it can burn up speed coils, stators and make things garbage. There are a lot of great tutors out there find one or two & use their knowledge. Email, text & photos & Google tell it all if well used. Good luck.

The red color just does not work in my opinion. Nothing wrong with the color red just that the original color would have looked better and have remained the original color. Thank goodness they left the Logo alone!

I agree…the original is much more elegant.

Good job, but that gray triangular piece you screwed to the front of the housing, doesn’t belong there…it goes INSIDE the housing, and is screwed in place from the outside. It looks ugly on the outside. Check photos of the fan when you first got it…it’s not outside. Also, its too bad the client wouldn’t stick with the original colors; which are much more elegant. Its looks positively garish with that red fan, cord and felt bottom…tacky!

Do you think that’s why it’s rattling around so much?? I want to learn how to do this stuff. Thanks.
