Very glad you’ve got it sorted, boy did it need an oil change! that’s one heck of a big tractor for such a small two cylinder engine!
@AntiqueCarsandStuff5 ай бұрын
Yes it did. That oil was nasty!

Those engines aren't really that small. They have a 4 1/2 inch bore with a very long stroke. They're close to 200 c.i.

My 39 B runs 185 in the summer, in cooler weather in have to close the shutters to keep up the temp, I never put a load on it, looks like you have a nice tractor

I guess they just tend to run cool. Thanks!

Those old dinosaurs draining out of the engine looked like they've been in that pan since the Eisenhower administration. Nice job it runs pretty sweet.

She sounds good, except the small screeching sound. It looks like you will address that eventually. That B definitely needed some TLC since it looks like it's been neglected for some time. I love those old Johnny Poppers and wish I had an old B, even an H.

If you are idling much, set the brakes and engage the clutch. There’s a bearing inside the clutch that is not being used when the clutch is engaged.

you need to replace the bushings in the generatot maybe just a little oil
@AntiqueCarsandStuff5 ай бұрын
Ok thank you.

There is probably a good chance that if you take the tin cover off the generator and lube the brush holders and also oil the front and rear bushings under the 2 spring loaded caps on the front and back your generator will most likely stop squeaking.

Trick I use to do fill with diesel start run for like 30 seconds drain oil/diesel repeat until clean then fill with oil
@AntiqueCarsandStuff5 ай бұрын
Yes, that works well!

Then run about 1 quart of marvels mystery oil and 6 1/2 quarts of oil. That will, possibly, free up the rings

Just curious, what did the rebuilt carburetor cost if you don't mind me asking? Great video.
