Super job, just love seeing the JD being restored piece by piece with each new bit painted against the original patina of the unrestored portion. This is how I would love to do it if I could, not just throw money at it and pay others to do it. Great video and looking forward to the next JD related one.

Great video! I'm curious however, if I am reading your diagram correctly, the "L" terminal on the voltage regulator is hot whenever the key is on. What is the purpose of the "L" terminal. Thanks for all the videos!!

Thanks! The way I understand it, the L terminal helps regulate voltage from the Regulator to the battery when an electrical load is added to the system(like switching on the lights). It is not necessary to run it but I’m pretty sure that’s what it is for; to help prevent undercharging or overcharging the battery with an added electrical “load.”

Some tractors use the L terminal as a power source for the ignition.

Do you mean remote voltage sensing? To bypass voltage loss in power wires?
