The Ball Serif is scarcer than the other two styles. The inverted "S" you presented applies to only the Ball Serif mintmark.

I just found a 1946 S with the 46 barely visible while the 19 is really tall. The S is slightly rotated counter clockwise. I don't think I can send a photo but just to say the outer ring just right of 46 is still intact. It is as if the 46 was not hollowed out on the press. Strange, I've never seen anything like this it is not from rubbing. Any thoughts? Thank you!

From lincolncentresource_com...In 1946 there were 3 different mintmark styles usedby the San Francisco mint. Three styles are the Sans Serif, Serif, and Ball Serif.

Hi Brother- my guess is that it would be tough to work something fair out, as I don't want to charge you too much. I think either a wide mix of local coin shops or eBaying it yourself is probably the best, most time effective solution.
