Hudson had a reputation as a strong, reliable car, my dad said.
@seanhoward80253 ай бұрын
@tomomiko202 Yes, more so than Studebaker. Studebaker was one of the highest paying auto manufacturers, and it seemed like the workers kind of took advantage of this. It was one of the reasons they went broke. Like the Jeep and Ram plant workers today.

Hi Jay! Those Hudson and Terraplane trucks were SO nice! Glad that one found a new home! I kind of wish that manufacturers would go back to these car-truck hybrids! Only thing is, they would be at least $40k! But for $23K sign me up! WYR. . .One has got to be the Stude Coupe Express! What a looker! Two. . .Would probably pick the '47, but MAN they are ALL nice!

The maroon looks so nice on this but I desperately want to paint that left front wheel. It sticks out like a sore thumb and lets down an otherwise great looking pickup. If a manufacturer could make a modern equivalent of a 1947 Hudson Big Boy pickup and sell it for $23k, I would run out and buy it immediately.
@What.its.like.3 ай бұрын
Same, this just proves that modern vehicle manufacturers are just plain greedy.. I mean, they charge more for a plastic bumper than a steel bumper.. I had a 67 Mustang at one point you could get every single part for that car back in 2010 a bumper was like 250 bucks meanwhile if you wanted a 2010 Honda Odyssey bumper it was like 500 bucks and the Honda Odyssey bumper is plastic. It’s absolutely insane.

Life priorities change I guess. If I had the money I probably would've bought it somebody that is part of this community sent me a link to a 1947 big boy earlier this year for $6500. It was probably the bargain of the century and it was right up the road, if I had the money I would've totally bought it because they were asking very little for it. Yes it needed some stuff but most of it was there.. all of the Hudson specific stuff was there it didn't last a day it was gone.. but these are getting forgotten unfortunately that's why this channel is exist to bring the light all of the lost and forgotten cars. What an awesome ride except for the recessed grille, I just don't care for that. Both the bed and tailgate are perfect, which with them being single-layer metal is incredible this far along as they get banged up the first time any hard load shifts. The reverse-opening hood gives great access too. The dashboard, steering wheel, and turn signal box are superbly styled and seats like these are more comfortable than you'd imagine. WYR The Studebaker Coupe Express wins but they're all great. Then the 41 Big Boy. No clue on NTT- is it from the same era?

Hudson, with Studebaker and Packard were, arguably, the finest of America's car makers. Chrysler carried on the tradition into the 1960's but don't know what happened to them. Mama and I moved to the 'country', before Virginia Beach was a City. Mr. Brooks, the man who build our house, had a 1953 Hudson Hornet. Mr. Flamant, across the street, had a 1951 Patrician. Next to Mr. Brooks was a 1954 Studebaker Conestoga wagon. On the next street Mr. Reider had a 1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan. Mrs. Hatch had a 1952 Rolls-Royce Wraith. Mr. Robbins had a 1951 Chrysler Imperial Town Sedan. Those WERE the days!
