That looks like the original ash wood, perhaps that had some repair. The way to do it is build the rear of the tub first including the main rails. The sheet metal curves where bent over should NOT have those cuts.

Thanks. I did not think the metal was original. I have 1 new quarter panel as I would call it. I need to get a wood order coming..
