Wow...April 4th, Noreen Nash just celebrated her 98th Birthday....one of the last survivors of the Golden Age. Not a bad B-crime Noir. reminds of me of Key Largo (48) just a bit
@mr.blazeblue8 ай бұрын
Yeah! I noticed that too, just today. I was surprised to see that she only had 50 credits. She was just 24 when she made this movie. Her final role was in an episode of a very short-lived TV series in 1967, when she was only 43 -- less than half the age she is now.

Such a very different role for the truly talented and very versatile actor Ralf Harold (May 17th, 1899 - November 11th, 1974) than the one he had played the same year. This film was released just 4 months and 2 weeks before BEHIND LOCKED DOORS.

@jannet of many countries It was just a cheap unpaid plug for Golf Rival. But yes, it's SO true - 40 years of Boilermaking will do that to a person if they don't want to be cleaning studs on every job 🙂

@jannet of many countries No, but I did that ... sometimes I read a book too and put on subtitles and listen to music as well. I'm versatile 🙂 I've seen many of these many times.

Director, Oscar Boetticher is better known as "Budd" Boetticher....for seven Westerns he directed, starring Randolph Scott.

You go to find a bunch of ruthless gansters, and your one and only gun you hide under a shirt in the top drawer of the only dresser. 😮 But it was a good little B Noir movie. Nash was a very good actor. Everytime I see Martin Kosleck I picture him in a Nazi uniform. Thanks for posting.😊

The film credits Oscar Boetticher as director. I found out Budd used that name as well.

terrific opening scene. Boetticher was such a good director even way back then .before he became famous with his Randolph Scott westerns

The word is ANTIBIOTIC! lol None of them ever heard of such? What more romantic way could a Hero express his emotions to his hunny than: "Find a boulder-stay behind it." ? LOL I think I've heard the line, "We gotta get rid of Louie." before in another movie. BUT, if you could see the faces clearly, they hired 2 of the Westmores to do makeup and 2 women for hair (Helen Turpin and...). They must have had high hopes, and it isn't a bad movie at all. Joey, the guy with the near-Unibrow, was Gene Evans, who made Westerns like Gun Smoke and war films. TY-nice post!

He asked for sulfa, low grade antibiotic. I'm not sure penicillin was that available in those years. Not sure what year they're supposed to be in. I think 1945 was the year penicillin was discovered. But I think that might have only been available to military. Just guessing.
