70 years ago I drooled to own one. Unfortunately it took another 50 years to acquire a 2-wheeled motor vehicle.

Great looking scoot, I've started collecting the Eagles the past few years. Love the body style on the Road Kings!

Thank you! your video was one of the best, more content of that wonderful Cushman with a drivers view and maybe some commentary, about it's history, how cool it is to ride etc... would be fantastic!

I had a Cushman Eagle in high school, you won't grind the gears shifting into low gear if you stop before you shift. Every time I heard that CRUNCH it was like a bolt of fire right up my spine.

G56AG that grind is definitely amplified because if the camera location, but thank you for the advice! I have a 1955 Cushman Eagle too.

Had a 50’s Eagle in 1967. Left it under the dorm at Evangel College with the signed pink for the next student that got my room, 😇. I wonder what happened to it? I don’t know if my 2014 Honda Forza 300 will still be running 70 years from now, 🤣

This summer I’m gonna try and restore my grandpa’s 49 model 54 When he was stationed in Japan after ww2 his base had a couple of cushman model 53 airbornes (they are like the 54 but striped down) and after he got back to the states he bought a 54 with the viramatic CVT and now I want to restore it I am nervous because I’m just trying to figure out everything from the little literature about it that he had and what I could find online about it, but it will be a great experience

Very good, when I was 12 I had the pacemaker ( 1 speed) I had a transmission but didn't know how to put it in.

My Dads Cushman had steel flex pipe that he made into dual exhausts by using a T fitting at the head.

My Dad had the same model since 1957, it was in his garage for years unrestored , not running but complete, my stepmother threw it away when they moved neither I nor my Dad knew it in time.

Probably more dependable than the Eagle. 2 speed was great.

How the hell do you shift on this?
@captlarry-35255 жыл бұрын
I The gear shift is on the side.. Low is back, Hi if forward. It has a centrifugal disc clutch with a manual override ( throw out bearing). you just use the foot clutch pedal, and let the revs synchronize then shift up or down.. let out the clutch again. stopped, you don't need the foot clutch because it is automatic (centrifugal). See at about 4 min.

That was a great video. I enjoyed that a lot. It looks in really nice shape. Is first gear all the way forward in second gear back? just curious. Thanks for the video.
