1948 Farmall Cub Engine Repair part 2 Cast Iron Welding

Part deuce of my Cub repair/rebuild/overhaul.

First start
I didn't get a lot of footage as far as rotating assembly work. I hand ground the crank to remove minor scoring, installed all new gaskets, seals and bearings, piston rings and rod bearings. New carb, fresh rattle can paint job with new decals! I did nothing to the valve train and put in the old clutch as it was still very lively!
This little tractor is used for work and was pretty spanked so that's the only reason I went through the engine. If you don't like how I did it or would do something different... good for you!

Why does anyone think that you got to put weld flash in camera it is hard on eyes good welding job

Nice job on the welding you have a real gift there! I have welded cast manifolds on my 8N Ford with a stick and I think It cost me more in rods and grinder disc’s and hydro than a new manifold would have cost on eBay! The Cub’s are such a nice little tractor especially if you have the hydraulics like your tractor has , well at least you know that tractor is going to last you a long time keep that old iron running 🇨🇦😀🏗🪝

Good day from Ontario That coffee cup looks like Timys So did the weld hold. I thought u should use nickel rods. Thanks

So far the weld is holding! Gotta have my Hortons when in the shop!
