That’s just a beautiful old tractor Tom! Very lovingly cared for and maintained! What a thrill to sit in yesterday for a little bit!! Thanks!!

It’s a good little tractor. It’s starts quickly on battery, but it starts faster with the hand crank to be honest

@@LedgemereHeritageFarm never tried a hand crank…seen it…which made me glad I never tried it!!😁 That’s amazing that it out performs the battery start!

Terrific video. It helps visualize the manual and steps. It is also helpful to see where you advise caution on the oil pan bolt. I liked the John Deere wrench. I wish I had a set.

Thank You for watching. I couldn’t believe what a set of those sold for on Marketplace auction 😳

I did the maintenance on my Super A a few weeks ago. I bought it last year, so this was the first time I had changed the fluids. I don’t know if the gear fluid had ever been changed, it was like peanut butter coming out. It’s going to take a while to get all that sludge out of it. Thanks again for sharing, have a great day!

Oh man. They always forget the gear oil. It smells bad enough when it’s new, but aged, it’s 🤢

It's a lot of work keeping those old tractors going but I like doing it work on mine all the time.

Great video. Check and clean out the air vent in the steering box cap especially if it was painted. Clean out the drain tube for the oil filter too. It’s usually got a bunch of gunk in it. Thanks for showing this. I always check my manual to make sure I got everything.

Good idea since most of them leak. I was mentioning the grease trick in the full video i excerpted from 👍

I still believe that oil bath air cleaners are better than our modern paper filters.

Do you have to go online to buy the manuals Mr. Tom? I need one for my IH 240

Generally, yes. eBay often has copies. There’s a guy in Moulton, AL who might have one. Check Steiner or Yesterday’s Tractors too. Thank You for watching 😊

Still does not show you doing anything as you are removing filter top plate and bolt, and when you do it never allows any oil to drain from filter housing and you do not address that. a full cup should run out of it removing the sludge and debris from filter housing. It should have had bolt put back in less filter and run some Kerosene or diesel fuel thru it to remove the sludge in it as it is stopped up it appears. Very Important. Then put in New filter lid and gasket tighten bolt and replace the drain tube plug back on it. Just a small critique, not to be offensive or offend you on it by no means.
