Windlace is the rubber weatherstripping that goes around the inside door opening on your First Series Chevy or GMC pickup. You may simply see a metal groove around the inside perimeter of the door. That's where the windlace goes. Over time this weatherstrip gets beat up and also dry-rots, so it tends to be missing in a lot of trucks. Installing new windlace is also a pain. Installation tip: use plenty of soapy water.
The windlace is two parts: one part runs the entire inside perimeter of the door opening in the cab, and the second part runs across the upper rocker panel section where it meets the floor.
