Runs, and sounds NICE! Question... Installing the Mag is it just a 50-50 chance on getting the timing correct ( not out 180 degrees)? Is there a step to check the mag installation Your pulley mark and piston check showed top dead center on piston number 1, and all the marks on the mag lined up. So how do you know you are not installing 180 degrees out? Or is it as simple as if it will not start change the plug wires to 4,213 timing as a check?

It all depends if its on the exhaust stroke or the compression stroke to know if its 180° out. The timing mark will still line up as well. But yeah if its 180 out just spin the engine around 1 revolution or you can just put the #1 wire in the #4 spot on the distributor cap and start the rotation from there.

Ok, I guess the missing step was to place your thumb over the spark plug hole as you rotated to top dead center to confirm you were at the top of compression. Simple, yet if missed, confusion occurs with the timing. Thank you for the response. @@bourbonbeertractorsandprep9335
