Golden Gate Live Steamer's Golden Spike Ceremony held on September 2, 1950. The actual driving of the golden spike starts at 07:14. In 1950 there was elevated track only (2-1/2", 3-1/2", and 4-3/4" gauges); the ground track wouldn't go in until 1963-ish. This track was located in Redwood Park near Oakland, CA, before the move to Tilden Park in the early 70s.
The original film was in a 16mm format with no audio. The film was silent and the nice folks at Redwood Valley Railway allowed me to attach my digital audio recorder to one of their locomotives to provide some sound.
