The Maxwell House ad is so perfect, you can practically analyze it frame-by-frame. The voiceover with its repetition, the use of circles, the cup moving right up to your lips, etc. Watch it a few times and see.

The percolator commercial from Maxwell House and Pontiac's 1980 'we build excitement that you've got to try' theme (also used as background music) are some of my favorites. Its a shame most commercials today either don't have it or copy a popular song to make a jingle

This is a lot of the reason of why I wished I lived in the 50's and 60's. You never had all this hassle with ads for computers, phones, or any other annoying commercials with skimpy clothes. Everything was so innocent and pure. Not all about money and companies throwing their stuff at you to buy it. I don't know how to explain it, just wished I lived it.

Good point re: job applications. As far as the e-Book readers, I have to ask myself: Aren't people tired of staring at screens? I visit the library frequently to browse, relax and learn. One doesn't get the same feeling from a Kindle, Nook or any of the other reading devices when it comes to wandering down the aisles of a good library or book store on a rainy afternoon.

Everyone knows Latinos had it slightly easier than other minorities in the 50's/60's because many of them looked white, but the ones who didn't faced discrimination.
