Born in early '49, I recall these cars. They were comforting to see though I'm not sure how to explain that. To those who think those times were wonderful, you should realize how much those cars polluted the atmosphere with their exhaust. Also, women were treated as second-class citizens and suppressed in employment opportunities as well as education. My mother loved being a housewife. I had five brothers and sisters. Dad was an automotive engineer and loved home life. The '50s were good, but were far from perfect.
