This 1954 David Bradley chainsaw was restored by completely tearing it down, replacing all gaskets, bad bearings, piston rings, and rebuilding the carburetor. This has the tecumseh Power Products AH47 engine.
Let me know below how you liked this vintage tool restoration!

That saw was made in 1954? It belongs in a chainsaw museum. Looks like the old gear drive type. By the way, great job on the restoration.

I have a David Bradley 360 model 917.60001 and I am in need of a coil, points and condensor. The coil is cooked and the insulation around the windings is cracked and coming apart. I looked on Ebay, but no luck. It has the Bendix magneto assembly. You did a great job restoring yours. Great video.

before doing any more projects like this, you should at least watch some videos on "how not to beat every shaft and case off and using a screwdriver to separate the tanks?" those parts are almost non existent anymore. but even getting them, isn't going to cure the broken stuff. unless it's going go be wall mount display, it would've been pretty cool as it was. oh and permatex blue rtv or whatever it is, isn't going to work long in anything with gasoline, no matter what it says on the tube.

So out of interest is there any value to a saw like this? Im amazed by the restoration quality but just wondered if there is any value to it. Also, is there anything to stop a professional using a saw like this today? I'm not a professional by any means but curiosity makes me wonder if there would be any issues other than weight
@mr.chaosvicious5968
@mr.chaosvicious5968 4 жыл бұрын
Parts availability for sure. If they were easier and pretty cheap to get. Then I would say no,there really should be no other issues using it besides maybe its weight.

Nicer than when it left the factory! That welch plug or whatever you drilled and removed from the carb. What was it? And it didn't look like you replaced it. I have 3 or 4 of these saws. The cool thing about them is that you can move the sprocket, bar and chain to the outside. And have a little fun with it too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6ClqGmaebCdZqM

those saws were not to be ran with 2 cycle oil the gas mix was 1 pint of sae 30 engine oil to 1 gallon of leaded gas so you would need lead substance to properly run them (not trying to be a asshole but js letting you know)
