A guy I know had one of these 50 Studebaker Trucks he inherited and wanted to HOT ROD IT...Why I'm not sure....I'm a Retired 342 Steamfitter Welder (Pipe fitter)....So you know who would be doing all the work..Changing the Front End, Making new Brackets....Welding new EVERYTHING....So I talked him into getting something he always wanted and he got a 1974.. (I'm not sure of the year)....AVANTI...It had a 400 and we pulled it out and got a 350 Crate motor and it Ended up with 425 Horse 700 R4 and Posi....New Upholstery....Stock outside...He was a Little happier with the AVANTI than that Truck....SUPRISE

I had a 53 - looked a lot like that. After I blew up the flat six it ended up with an Avanti 289 and B-W T10 trans. It was pretty lively with those 4:54 gears! PS: I see you have a heater box, mine came from Calif, so heat wasn't important. First time I drove up into the mountains of AZ during winter I quickly saw the error of my ways.
@GrenadeMotorsports6 жыл бұрын

I am glad that I typically only watch KZbin videos with one earbud in. At least now I can still hear with my other ear. I plan to watch this series and have subscribed but if you can’t balance out the audio so the music doesn’t rupture eardrums then it will be a no go for me. As for the snow. I almost have more here in Barrie Ontario now than I did all winter just from the storm over the weekend.
@GrenadeMotorsports6 жыл бұрын
I know- we'll fix that. Thanks for watching- We NEED new gear & editing software, it's a constant battle, we will do better! Thanks and have fun out there!

@joeschlotthauer8406 жыл бұрын
Watching your other videos, and if it wasn't for the new column and the new instrument cluster, I would love to own the Studebaker. I understand why you do it though, but it's my only criticism.

Hope you can upgrade your camera and audio soon. I have to ask why did you remove the fenders from the bed?
@GrenadeMotorsports6 жыл бұрын
We hope so too! The camera and audio is Juuunk! We need external microphones and a newer camera. This is an almost 8yr old 720hd with welding spatter on the lens! The fenders had to come off because we are sectioning the bed, then we'll reattach them based on ride height, once the front fenders are mounted. Thanks for watching and YES- we need new recording gear!

as fascinating and interesting as the build is, the video is hard to watch, why? sound levels. To hear the commentary, you have to turn the volume up. then the filler music, you have to turn it down. Why am I commenting on this? because I missed catching the sound level and it woke my grandson up. (he's a great shop helper) anyway, interesting video, and I hope my comment may help you. BTW upvote on the Stude. Great pick!
