It was a brilliant decision to refurbish this machine as it will still be operating long after we aren’t, and it’ll do everything you’ll ever need to do. Well done! ❤️🔧✌🏻

You should show doing the seats and valves , there's not near enough videos on the how to machineiest, I remember going to old school machine shops growing up and the smell is something I'll never forget , cutting oil is just one of my favorite memories but anyway you should show everything

Back in the olden days pre unleaded gas cars got valvejobs at 50 to 75,000 miles . Modern heads have harder valve seats so cars today 250,000+ miles before needing a valve job

Austin ! Welcome back man. Missed ya. Looks like the shop got a major tidy up 🤭 Yup remember using one back when I worked at the gas station in High School 73 - 75. Ours was old back then. Still worked great. Cheers ! 🍺🤛😎👍

Great video!!! I have one of the black and decker grinders myself mine is a bit newer I think van norman made it for black and decker. I bought mine at a flea market it was just a black ball of grease and crud no red showing at all I restored it to full operating condition and use it in the small engine shop i work at. also have a souix grinder i restored and use for home shop work. beam equipment has a lot of the parts stones and manuals for these old grinders. Can't wait for things to warm up here myself lots of projects to do. *Wrench Salute* PS don't think they ever had a belt guard on them. mechanics back then were smart enough to not drink the battery acid or stick their fingers in the belts :D

Have an evaporative cooler here. In 20+ years I've been through a handful of pumps and motors, and a couple coolers. That grinder's still rockin' after 70+ years. Imagine that :-)

I've found WD-40 is better than brake cleaner or carb. spray for removing old crud, it doesn't damage the paint!

Nice grinders. The if you didn't know the v on the back side of the diamond wheel dresser is to lay the valve in and square the stem, or can set lash if you don't have adjustable lifters. Also if your doing a v8 flathead ford the pilot for the seat grinder is a special large one that locates down in the lifter bore as well as the bore where the guide goes in the block. Keep the vids coming!

Nice machine, man. Just got my old B&D Type FE going this past week to clean up the valve faces for my '58 AMC/Nash Flathead 6. So glad I bought that thing when I came across it a few years ago. I'm quite amazed by the major differences between the old England made unit I have and your USA made Type NWA. Yours definitely looks like a heavier duty machine, but I suspect it's about the same era having the "wings" nameplate as well. Not only are these old units real machines, they're functional shop art as well.
