+califdad4 You know this Cosmopolitan looks so much nicer than the Sport Sedans they show on KZbin all the time, I have even seen Sport Sedans being sold as Cosmopolitans , this is one of the nicest ones I have seen

It's astounding how advanced the body design is on that Linoln. The front fender-line that flows through all the way to the rear is at least a decade ahead of the competition. The same with the " greenhouse". I read years ago that this car was intended to have disappearing headlights but production was interrupted and couldn't meet the introduction date so they were abandoned.

Nicely styled with a conservative theme. Of course there are some similarities to the '51Mercury but the '51 Lincoln does seem more stately and regal.

Lincoln by no means cheapened the car after the body style changed in 1949 from Edsel's pride and joy,. The interiors were just as nice and plush! What a fabulous marque Ford put out all those years but will continue like it was or not?

That car should be SILENT...STOP putting low restriction mufflers on these elegant cars and install the dual stage systems they deserve: Substantial mufflers with resonators after just prior to the tailpipe. These are luxury cars and these crap, throaty systems make them sound low rent. Jeez...
