This particular car is gorgeously restored, but I was alive when this model was new & considered it a bit 'clunky' looking, even then! Its bulbous styling & excessive grill work seemed dated in only 3 years, after the radical improvements that occurred in 1955, to most American models! Beautiful restoration, though!

The Dodge, Ford, 51 and later Packard, 52 and later Lincoln were definitely NOT fat looking, which was part of the reason they didn't sell all that well. Motorists WANTED their cars to look massive.
