Roger Salley of Bristol, CT spotted a 1952 Chevrolet 3100 Canopy Express near his house on the day it went on sale, and he bought it. That was more than 10 years ago, and he's still working on it and taking it to car shows.

Beautiful. I've seen pictures, but never actually saw one. Figured it was one of those rare options that not many people bought, then disappeared with the changing times, but we have one right here in Connecticut. As always, nice work. Keep bringing these beautiful classics to us.

I love those old pickups, but i'm just so confused. You had this super rare and original truck and you proceeded to gut it so you could put the body on a new truck. I get that a v8, modern suspension, disc brakes, a different dashboard, new gauges, and bigger tires are nice. But if you think there were only 200 and change made, why would you ruin something so rare and special? There are millions of other pickups. When I say ruin, I don't mean the truck is bad or worthless, I think it's cool but as a collector the value of a rare piece is tanked by such drastic modifications. It would be similar to cutting up an original z-28 Camaro to turn it into a race car. Sure, it'd be cool, but it was worth so much more to any collectors beforehand. I guess if you like it, do whatever floats your boat. I'm glad people are still keeping these old fat fendered vehicles on the road.

Because they needed replacing sometimes it is better to have a restomod then a falling apart husk.
