All MG TDS came stock with an SU fuel pump. The MG TD MK II models had two SU fuel pumps mounted on the firewall. White walls, never, hideous. The original Interior was never that color red and likely, not originally red. The engine compartment is not "show quality"... rusted stabilizer rod, rusted bolts, paint peeling off the radiator. Non original fuel pump lines. Chipping paint on the storage box. A five speed on a TD.. not likely unless you are going to upgrade the engine with an over bore, wild cam, ported head, balanced motor, lightened fly wheel etc The MG TD is not an investment. Prices are stable compared to other MGs.. The TC and TF models are closer to "investments". If you are buying an MG for investment purchases wrong reason. They are fun to drive easy to work on and parts availability is very good to excellent depending on the model.

Guages are Jeager, not lucas. the lucas parts that confuse people are the distributor and voltage regulator. Never had a problem in 55 years. . . .

I have owned 30 Brit cars including 7 MGs. I have never been stuck on the side of the road. Previous MGs, 46 TC, 50 TD prepped for Bonneville, 53 TD MK II My first Brit car bought in 1964. 56 MGA in which I stuffed a 3 main B Motor, 69 MGC GT bought new. 1964 MGB sold 2 years ago. Currently driving a 1963 MGB. Looking at a pristine 66 MGB GT this week. I worked at British Motors of Monterey (Calif) 1968-1972.

Mg td never had mechanical fuel pump, they all had su electrical fuelpumps!

That is a super pretty car, but nobody can afford it. Probably $50,000. I bought a gorgeous chromy red with flames Honda Shadow Spirit that looks even prettier, for $1,900. A lot faster, faster acceleration, cheaper to maintain, more reliable, and I got my two spoked chrome shiney wheels. If you want one of these, but could never afford one or the maintenance headache, take a look at cruiser motorcycles.
