This is the Seattle I grew up in. Not just this year but the 1950's and 1960's. All the events that bound the community together before all the Special Interests have ruined it for everyone. I lived right above the Mount Baker Bathing Beach and had a front seat to the races from my bedroom windows. Lat hydroplane pits were at Mount Baker docks until they were moved to the new "Pits" further south. I loved the roar of those engines not like the whinny things used today.

The old boats made of wood running at those speeds, the dated safety gear, the manual timing clocks, survey equipment to place the track markers, amazing.
