Speaking of the track and the old test cars dumped there, an effort in the 80's to remove many of them took place by the Studebaker club/museum and my Dad photographed it. Very cool but unfortunately, most of the cars were just too far gone to be saved. Amazing to see the pics and hear from family friends who used to work there both on the line and in management. Thanks for the great video!

Beautiful Jewel of a car. One off as it should have been. Studebaker was very late to the hardtop game, then only one year 1952. Then again 1958 before completely new body. This was a waste of money when Studebaker couldn't really afford it. I've loved, and coveted this car since seeing it on the SDC Turning Wheels Bulletin.

What a gorgeous car! Your collection is beyond any other. You have the finest examples of all the Loewy coupes too! Is the heater/climatizer under the front seat in this car? Is that why the narrow dash shelf?

Studebaker put low next to reverse so you could rock your car out of mud and snow easier.

My dad had one of these, it was stolen in 1976, and never recovered. His was ugly green, three speed with overdrive. I would love to find another one.

Designed by Virgil M. Exner Sr., Vince Gardner and Bob Bourke for the Raymond Loewy Design Studio in 1949-1950. This car has the 1951 Studebaker front end on it, not the production 1952 front end.

The front end is a tasteful upgrade over the less aesthetic 1952.

I am very interested in your channel. Please get some microphones one for each of you when you talk. We can hear whoever is hold the camera but the other person is hard to hear. It will help attract viewers if they don’t have to crank the volume up just to hear you. 2 mics won’t break ya but it will enhance your videos

Wonder what Studebaker could have become if they stayed true to their origin? Biased, but my favorite American produced car.

2:24 Why is the windshield scratched? You can get new glass and it seems like you have the 1950 bullet trim which is embossed Studebaker instead of the non embossed like my '51 with the plastic center. 18:09 Then you mention swapping the bullets
