I did a concourse restoration on a '50 Thunderbird, It was "thunder blue" Beautiful machine, you have here.

Triumph THUNDERBIRD ,fantastic pre-unit construction ! I had a 1953 ! Mine was not so pretty ,but boy it was quick ,& sounded like no other motorcycle I have ever known !!

This was a time when bikes..'Made in Great Britain' really did rule the roost. Innovations like the 'sprung hub' at the rear came and went, but it was still the heyday of British motorcycles..

Wish it had an enclosed chain. Makes the chain last forever. They were motorcycles to ride on and aquire patina of miles and age.

Why why, did I sell my 1954 model? Nearly 50 years on I still regret it.......I bought a T100A to replace..nice but nowhere near the experience.

Looks like oil pressure indicator needs a new rubber sleeve !
