That was my first tractor. The dealer said only run it on gas until you could push the choke in fully. Then switch it to diesel. He said running too much on gas washed down the cylinder walls. I ran that tractor for many trouble free years.

Looks good but I see it needs some work. Put it on some heavy tillage for a couple hours and get it good and warm. Then it should start and run better. I just got a ‘47 MD running recently and it takes less than 2 minutes to warm up with minimal smoke switching to diesel

Must need a valve job. Missesd on both gas and diesel.

Some of them were a pain in the ass some of them would not start on the gas side of the engine we had one in the stone quarry and that sucker would not run on the gas side always had to start it on the diesel

Hey man, they don't have to run good on gas, they just have to run long enough to warm up. It doesn't help that all gas adjustments are just the choke

@@redneckryan615 Good day No you are right, but if each cylinder was firing right all cyl would be warmer inside for diesel to run better. Thanks Nice looking tractor.

I used mine all winter in temps down to -20. It started without any problems on the gas side. Then switch it up diesel and let it warm up good.
