To your surprise and mine is that My truck was emerald green in color and looked very much like this in color. I had to sell it when in College (78) and have always wanted another one. My hats off to Noah Alexzander - He really did the Truck proud. Thank for your show Jay..

It’s refreshing to see a ‘53 build instead of another ‘56. I like the ‘55 grill the best out of the ‘53 to ‘56 models , the fact that it still has mirrors and door handles as apposed to being shaved is a nice touch as well. I would have liked to see the undercarriage and the way the bed was floor was raised and mounted. Not a fan of the wheels, but it is a beautiful build none the less.

My best friend in 1971 had a '53 he bought for $300. Over the next 2 years he built it into one gorgeous truck. He repainted it the original Surf Green with stock steel wheels he painted red, with the original hub caps. After he beefed up the entire drive train, tranny, installed a 9 inch rear end, and modified the suspension he installed a rebuilt 427 medium riser. That truck looked good and was wicked fast. He won a lot of money with that truck after, well, you know, deserted street races at 2:00 am. RIP Dennis...

My dad and I built one of these! Painted in the SoCal White with the red scallops. 500 c.i. Caddy motor with an aggressive cam!Red and white tuck and roll with white carpet (against my wishes) . 3” collectors off the headers that dumped in front of the rear axle with the classic 2” chrome tips “T’d” off to the rear. People would be gobsmacked hearing the huge noise with little pipes. Went to Bonneville, mounted a 2x8 piece of wood to the front and push started a SoCal speedster!
