Just finding these videos we had a lovely Somerset when I was a little girl great memories long trips from Birmingham to Durham radiator boiled over well remember Dad climbing down a ditch to get some water he sealed it with rad weld when we got to our destination next time we went for a visit we had several punctures somehow we had picked up lots of nails still got us there.

Thank you so much. My dad had one of these when I was a young boy back in the 60s. We went from wickford Essex to Walton on the naze for a summer holiday in it. It took forever to get there, but now as my dear dad is struggling against lung cancer caused by asbestos, I'm looking for my memories. Thank you so much for this glorious video and you will only understand what I mean if you were there in the glorious 60's

My first car here in Australia in 1968 was a 1953 Austin A40 Somerset, a bit darker green than this one & had been reupholstered with a tan leather look vinyl & it was an ideal car for a 17 year old apprentice...❤️

Irish car? the no plate is/was Irish. My grandfather had one of these in the 50's/60's (his last car) - a devoted Austin man all his life. His favourite colour (Sage Green? or thereabouts). Even his front door, garage doors, ties & jumpers were this colour) Miss him even after 50 years

I remember my school teachers riding up the hill to my primary school one morning in one of these and nearly ran me over. They were going too fast, but I got a slap infront of the class; I won't say where!
