Looks great! Looking to restore the same outboard! Hoping run just as good

Thanks. These engines are great. Become an AOMCI member and join their members only group on FB for solid information during your restoration. The “regular” antique outboard group will it offer the same advice.

That's a very strong 5.5hp antique outboard, you're right that it does push your little boat very well.

I’m really fond of that engine. It’s tough not to like. Light, smooth, quiet, and pretty peppy for its size.

Geez, that is one strong running 5.5hps! One of your custom props?

That was actually the stock prop. I made another one that makes it go a little over 1mph faster. I have yet to make a video of it with that prop.

that runs like a 10hp, very good runner

Thanks you! Since this video, I got it going even better with a custom propeller. I’ll eventually make another video.

Great job. So, what is your favorite brand old outboard? Looks like you can make all of them run better then new. Who paint and decals do you use?
@GearHeadJP Жыл бұрын
Thanks. My favorite brand is “the next one I do”. lol. I use vintage outboard paint for some and mix the rest myself from what’s on hand. American outboard and discontinued decals are what I mostly used. For the decals that aren’t available, I work with a local artist to make them.
