Fantastic colour interiors on this model - specially this one! It would look really great, with a slightly grey-ish silver coat of paint! Please do it! That would look terrific, specially as you could not GET metallic on Austin cars of that era!

I love the 'trafficators' (turn signals) on the B Pilar these were on most English cars in the 1950s when you wanted to let other vehicles know you were turning the driver would activate them and they would pop out and illuminate to show which direction you were taking.

Now, there's a car of which I was completely unaware. Looks well-designed. I enjoy the continuing education.

@@2stroketurbo That's a pity you would've liked it I'm recommissioning mine at the moment an 60 version😁.

That's a BMC 'B' series engine, small bore long stroke engine, heaps of torque but not a lot of power, same engine was used by Morris in their 'Major' model, although they used a semi down draught S.U. carburetor, I've got a '59-60 model. Look after that radiator, it's made of brass and worth a fortune.

there should already be a hole in floor with a cover plate. put 4spd. floor shift trans in it. Your biggest worry is the front hydraulic wishbone shocks.

Hi 2stroketurbo, I have an odd request. We have a 56 A50 and the column shifter bracket is missing. Would you be willing to take a picture and a few measurements of the bracket? Thanks!

Getting a gearbox in the UK should be possible, be expensive to ship though I would imagine. I was wondering if the Metropolitan's box could be used also, might be worth inquiring, there are more of those in the States. Body's in good condition , shouldn't take a lot to put right I would have thought. Good luck anyway.

farveree The A-50 gear box is a 4 speed, where as the Nash Met. is a 3 speed , from what I know.

Lord Lucas, the dark lord, was badly maligned, his electric systems worked perfectly, if you could keep all the smoke in the wires. That was where he went wrong using cotton wrapped wires. The cotton was porous, letting the smoke leak out.
