Thanks for watching. Here is a link to one similar to what I made. However, it looks like they are out of stock at the moment. Perhaps someone else carries it too. www.npdlink.com/product/fan-shroud/140509

I've been playing around with the cooling system on my 57 T'Bird. I have a P/S rack & pinion from Unisteer. I have always believed that the spacer between the block and water pump is a big issue causing poor performance of the pump. I have done away with it altogether. I have also drilled and tapped the thermostat housing and fitted a 2nd temperature sender in it. At operating temperature with this sender, the rear one is reading higher on the same gauge. Later FE and up Ford engines have the temperature sender at the front instead of the rear. is this the problem? I have also opened up the galleries at the front of the heads and in the block to match the gaskets. This motor had been rebuilt prior to me buying it and shipping to Australia. At the rear of the block, the galleries had quite a build up of hard deposits like concrete. it took me over 10 hours to awkwardly chip away at this and through the core plugs. I have fitted a Davies Craig 16 inch electric fan and done away with the factory fan. it pulls 2120 CFM. I do not expect any cooling problems. This is my 5th Baby Bird.

Looks great. Good job. Actually I have a problem with a aftermarket 4 row radiator, who is 1cm deeper than the original. I have no ac and a Ford-o-matic Transmission. I'm thinking about having the spacer between the fan and the waterpump pulley removed. The 6 Blade fan scratches to the bigger new radiator…. Lot of problems….🤔 Greetings from germany. Love your videos and I appriciate it much.👍👍👍

Thanks for watching. Yes it's always something on these old cars isn't it. I still love them though.

do you have a video of the radiator replacement, and approx how much time should it normally take? tnx
@DickShaw2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Thanks for watching. I do not have a video of replacing the radiator but it is not a difficult job and should take only a couple hours. First, of course, drain the water. Remove the shroud and radiator hoses. Unbolt the radiator and remove it, two people will make it easier to lift out. Reverse the procedure for installation. Good luck!

Wow, you’ve made it look too too easy. A great plan! Can I borrow your brake? 😂

Thanks for watching! It is easier if you have the right tools, that's for sure.

Hi Dick, I've tried Casco and NPD for their Modified Lower shroud, both say discontinued. I have that over heating problem associated with the F/code. I've bought a Code Case (Radiator Express # 229390) radiator for it, but need your lower shroud. Its core hight is 18". Could you Please make me a lower shroud like yours. I will pay what ever you deem fair. Ken

Hi Ken, Thanks for watching my video. I'm sorry but I am unable to make a shroud for you. I would imagine any reputable car shop in your area could easily do it. Have them watch the video so they know exactly what you are after. Good luck with it.

I found that my 55 runs cooler with a 57 manifold and 4 barrel carb on it. I added a aluminum radiator also.

If you are talking about the shroud, you can get a plastic one from CASCO. www.classictbird.com/Shroud-Lower-Extra-Cooling/productinfo/8148XC/ Thanks for watching.
