Rambler had consistently offered a larger Rambler since its inception in the early 50's. This was its latest offering, offering more room for a typical family. The styling was competitive for the era.

Chrome trim around the windows looks cool! Nice car!

Hey, guys! Yes, it was an unusual treatment...the window frames are aluminum while the rest of the brightwork appears to be stainless. Thanks! :) Jack

Nice Rambler , perhaps a well preserved survivor that got repainted at some time. The original Nash Rambler was introduced with a 100 wheelbase, a truly compact car. Like this one shows in 1956 AMC gave the Rambler a new larger body with a 108 inch wheelbase to make it better appeal to families as their prime transportation. Very smart decision - it put AMC on a growth spurt through the rest of the ‘50s as the Big 3 had no answer for these roomy, well equipped compact economy cars.

Well said! Rambler's initial offerings were quite small, sold fairly well but it was in fact a niche market. The true sales would wait upon growing the car a bit, and that's what Rambler did as evidenced by this car. Most people would have at least considered purchasing it. Thanks! :) Jack

Hey Jack. How have you been? Beautiful looking car. IMHO, it's the best looking Rambler car offered until about the 1962 model year. 🙂

Hey, Jason! You can see the evolutionary nature of Rambler styling here. By the early 60's they looked much like mainstream styling. I've been doing fine.....I hope you are too! Thanks! :) Jack

@@coolrides I'm well. The weather where I'm from has been rather warm, but not as hot as some parts of the country. 🙂

Nice car but I think it has a challenging face. The face used to be so important in making a good styling impression (exhibit one, M’Lud, the Edsel). However now, the contest between car designers is who can make theirs look most like Alien vs Predator.

Hey, Mick! That face was the result of the Nash Healey which had a similar headlight insertion into the grille. It may have looked good in the sportscar, but it was a stretch in this car. I agree about the importance of the grille and grille/bumper combination in identifying the car's make and model. Your comparison of today's stock of front ends is quite apt! Pity the poor pedestrian! Thanks! :) Jack

Wow it's been a long time since i saw one of these! Nice car. It's too bad someone tried to turn it into a Buick. Those portholes look WAY out of place.

Hey, Duane! To make it more complete, we'll expand the front end a bit and install a Buick straight 8! :D Thanks! :D Jack
