Very glad you restored this beauty. My dad bought one new in 1956. It was years ahead of its time. Its strong point was the independent suspension. When most cars of the time had a live rear axle. Our Renault could out corner almost anything with loud protests from the tyres. The only weak spots that I can remember is the gearbox. It would jump out of first, I believe a design flaw where the teeth of the first gear were angled in the wrong direction and at the coast it rusted. Generally a really good car and we had many years of pleasure from it. I still have a b/w photo of ours,

Elles avaient aussi des problèmes de chauffe moteur .Certaines versions étaient équipées de moteurs hydrauliques aux roues arrières ( pas fiables). ces véhicules ne sont pas recherchés en France . Très gros travail de reconstruction , respects.

38 years ago i found one of these in a wrecking yard in central west ,new south wales . No rust but very sun burnt . It took a bit of searching to figure what it was even though i had owned a dauphine in the past . 😊

Had one in early 70’s good points; overdrive and handling, bad pints reverse gear dog/selector that kept shearing and lack of interior cooling.
