Ms creek, I, as one, used to go with my mother whenever she had to drive the lumber truck to town and deliver the lumber to mill, My grandfather's sawmill. The truck had a six cylinder engine, one four speed transmission, and a two speed brownie transmission. I was four years old then, and I'm 78 years old now. I, myself thought you did rather well on the steering and such, little oversteer, but you just have to get used to it. What I thought was great was the fact that you did not hesitate to jump in and start driving. Kudos to and for you. Michael said that, bye for now girlfriend.

You're wife is hysterical! I worked 14 years for Tilcon North Branford CT as the Road Runner for the State of CT. I once moved a CAT 992 Face Loader. 2 stories tall, felt like a house, moved like an actual cat! I was once belleding brakes in my driveway. It has a wall on each side. On a Summer night at dusk. I needed my wife to pump the pedal. She said "I'm in my PJs". I told her "it's not a fashion show! and "you're sitting IN THE CAR!" Who's going to see you? Geez! Mrs Creek is a Champion in my book. Just ignore the bullet hole! LMAO!

At the 18:30+ mark, I'm saying Woa!!.... I thought that perhaps you forgot to unbolt the support rods at the firewall for the radiator, as I was watching the radiator shroud being pulled backwards as you were initially trying to lift the cab! Whew!! That wife of yours is little "pistol"... as the ole saying goes... "dynamite, comes in small packages"!! lol..... and in her case, that's a compliment! Love how she just got right in there with you, and went for it..... She's Definitely Not a "prissy" like so many, these days! She's definitely a "Keeper"... you're a Blessed young man!! Enjoy and treasure her... and each other, and you'll have a long life together. Love your video's... subscribed about a year ago, with the first video of yours that I found and watched, and have "liked" all of them. PS: The very first truck I ever drove (as a present to me on my 13th birthday) was a big "A"Car (DC-9964 - OHNES.. special order), Cummins NH 250 (with the "back-drop" exh. manifold & dual straight pipes), with a double "over" 5x4. It was a dump truck, with an 18 yd (water level) body, plus 16" side boards for extra capacity. Always had a "special place" in my heart for the big square fender "A"Cars... and twin sticks, but my favorite power has Always been the 2 cycle Detroits, and have owned 3 semis with V12 power (modified) and "sticks".

With that gear that is rockin' and rollin' and shiftin' sideways on its shaft -- you are very correct. That will need to be pulled down, cleaned, and reassembled with a host of new bearings. Check all those gears intensely, both their outsides as well as where the shafts run. Check end-play tolerances and fit with new spacers as necessary. Much better to spend an extra hour in checking before you reassemble only to miss something and have to repeat the entire workload to find what you may have missed. The very first engine I stripped bigger than a 2 stroke lawnmower was on my first car -- a 1954 Rover 75 straight 6, and its 4 speed manual gearbox with "freewheel". Yes, I examined all the gears and bearing surfaces very, very carefully and replaced those which had damage - and all the bearings, and checked and adjusted end-plays. The engine was a very major job and some parts had to be rebuilt by a professional - lobes had new metal added and reground, etc. A most interesting task and one which was totally successful. Everything ran like a dream afterwards. I have never had mechanical training, but have quite successfully overhauled several engines and gearboxes -- with the assistance of the "Haynes" workshop manuals.

I love how she keeps moaning about the dirt, the smell, the looks of the old rusty gear. But then she sits down and helps and gets it done. She's exactly like the one I got at home. They could be sisters. Mine can curse in 4 languages, believe it or not.

Matt I love when you have you wife do stuff. She's hilarious. Cool thing about it is it doesn't look like you have to urge her to drive stuff. She looks like she is super willing to do it. You have a super cool chick. But nothing....and I mean nothing, has topped the "You are taking all my strength" bit yet while pulling that bed on your ranger. Thanks dude!!!

It would seem that the Mrs. is gaining a substantial fan base! She is an impressive lady who will get into heavy equipment and learn on the fly. Get her some gloves and then flowers and I would suggest that you put her at your side when ending these videos. You know …….. “Happy Wife equals Happy Life!” I’m fairly sure that I seen the majority of your videos and have enjoyed everyone. Thanks for taking the time to direct/produce these scenes while being deeply involved in all the work and thinking required in restoring these ole beauties.

Wouldn’t dare talk down to my wife. She’s been running a successful restaurant for several years.she’s smart and well educated. Now that I’m completely retired and disabled, l depend on her and my son to run the business and she does a better job of that than many people could.
